Facilitation

As an experienced and qualified educational practitioner, coach and mentor, I bring a range of skills and knowledge to the facilitation of small groups and teams, in addition to one to one work.

Approach

My approach to facilitating is holistic: working in an interactive style based around experiential learning, providing a supportive and developmental environment.

Drawing upon my skills, knowledge and experience from the fields of education and coaching, I take a flexible approach tailored to the context and purpose, and facilitate individual learning styles and preferences to achieve successful outcomes.

With a wealth of experience, I facilitate workshops on coaching skills and mentor training, confidence, self esteem, awareness of mental health amongst others. This includes working with individuals and groups with a diverse range of needs. I am experienced in learning and development within cross-cultural contexts, the development of emotional intelligence, and in exploring equality and diversity.

What others say

"If as a coach you are looking for someone who will create a safe restorative place to help you think challenging issues through, knowing you won't be judged, and offering a continually supportive presence, then Frances brings all these strengths, and more."

Christopher Spriggs, MA, Coach, Author, Keynote Speaker

"Thanks for such an excellent session - and for some great techniques which I was able to put into place before seeing my next coaching client."

Sean Russell Consulting: Corporate and Individual Coaching; Higher Education Consultant.

Senior Fellow, Higher Education.

"What I really valued was your enquiry process into the concerns I was then having. This was both supportive and invitational and this helped underlying themes emerge. Your own experience in educational contexts was very helpful as well. What proved to be very catalytic for the process that helped develop the final theme was your highlighting of the person-centred and student centred approaches which I find so central to my teaching and practice".

Tim Duerden, Senior Lecturer, University of Salford and Director of Integrated Mindfulness Ltd.

"The tutor was an effective facilitator providing a space in which students could discuss and reflect on important issues within the subject field, experiment with ideas and develop their understanding in a non-judgemental atmosphere. The tutor was in this regard both warm and encouraging. The dynamics of the class were positive and the tutor was supportive and attentive while also providing directions where necessary, for example when hilighting the value of theoretical resources to bring to students' observations. This was a pleasing session by an approachable and considerate tutor that provided a positive environment for students to develop understanding and address their future assignment."

Senior Lecturer Observer, UndergraduateCoaching Career Development, University of Warwick
